Ear Care
Pet Ears can be delicate things and a sorce of many problems.
When grooming always make a point of checking the ears both inside and out. Wax buildup can be cleared easily with products such as oatderm ear cleaner. Unpleasant aromas can indicate infection but so can the way in which a dog holds its head.
If your pet constantly shakes his head or scratches his ears he may have an ear infection, mites or a grass seed in his ear and you should take him to the vet for diagnosis. It is important that ear problems are treated quickly to avoid them becoming persistent.
Keep ears dry and do not let your pet swim if he is prone to ear trouble, it is also important to clean your dog's ears with ear cleaning solution such as Oatderm Ear Cleaner or ear wipes.
Ear mite infections commonly occur in puppies and kittens and will cause a build-up of black wax in their ears. If you look carefully, you may be able to see the tiny mites. These can be treated with ear mite drops.
If you suspect their is a problem with your pets ears please contact your local Vet who will be able to advise you on any problems.
